Meet Mike and Sean

Mike Goldstein

Mike is founder of Match Charter High School, a Gates-funded effort whose students have gone on to Harvard and everywhere else. At the Harvard Innovation Lab, Mike co-led creation of private schools in Boston; the scaling of a tutoring program (link to EdNext Match Corps); and guiding international students to USA academic scholarships (Amherst College, Bowdoin College, etc). He serves or has served on advisory boards including FutureEd at Georgetown University; the National Council on Teacher Quality; the Indify public service program; Harvard’s “Futures of Education” project; Transcend School Innovation; Harvard Education Press. Most of all, Mike is a dad; he and wife Pru have 2 teenage kids plus one very enthusiastic mini golden doodle, Mr. Grizzly Goldstein.

Sean Geraghty

Sean is former chief academic officer whose team was the Learning Provider of the Year in 2023. He is also an education researcher, collaborating with the likes of economist Michael Kremer, Nobel Prize winner in economics. He’s worked on dozens of studies that track how well students learn, or don’t.

Sean started as a Chicago math teacher, then went to Harvard to study education policy and student motivation.

As a dad, he and wife Bethany have 2 tweens plus one very enthusiastic 4-year old human, who likes Fig Newtons, Piggy Bread, and Darth Vader.
